Welcome to the Country!

I hardly ever write on here - not even since we moved into our new home on Disco Road. However, it's time that I share some important information with you about living in the country. For those of you who already live in the country, these are every day happenings and you will not understand why I am even writing it here. But for those of you who live in town and know that my family has lived in town forever you will understand.

While Shawn was mowing during our first week here he found a baby rabbit nest in the front yard. The kids were ecstatic! They were petting them and taking pictures - checking on them and even trying to feed them. Yes, I know you should not touch baby rabbits or the mother may not come back. Let's see you try to keep four excited kids away. Anyway, the next day as soon as the kids got off the school bus (which now drops the kids off right at our house, by the way) they all ran to see the bunnies. Of course the neighbor's dog , Chopper, was excited to see the kids so he bounded over and subsequently found the bunnies. So, right before my children's little eyes, Chopper proceeded to kill each little bunny, one by one. Sad as it sounds, I explained the "circle of life" as best as I could and they seemed to understand (Thank you Lion King!).

Today while Shawn was about to mow he spotted a snake coiled up next to the house. Again Chopper came over to assess the situation. I probably don't need to explain any more - just watch the video. Thanks for reading!
